Security operatives attached to the Rivers State Amnesty Committee have arrested a twenty year old member of Iceland cult group who attacked the amnesty convoy on the fifth of this month at Akabuka in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The suspect Mr. Celestine Ukpaka from Obiosimi Community was arrested while he and three others were on a robbery mission at Obiebi community after a gun battle with the security operatives.
Speaking in an interview in  Port Harcourt, Mr. Ukpaka said he was coerced into joining the Iceland cult group.

Reacting to the development, the State Amnesty Committee Chairman Mr. Kenneth Chinda cautioned the cult groups in ONELGA demanding payment before they will embrace the State amnesty programme warning that government will not pay any group.

The Special Adviser to the governor on amnesty said the state government will do all within its power to ensure sustainable peace is achieved in the state.
