Special Courts Created For Kidnappers Trials

Six special courts have been created in Delta State to ensure speedy trial of kidnappers.
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa stated this in Asaba when the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Zone 5, Mr Adamu Abubakar paid him a familiarization visit .

The governor who noted that all over the country, the issue of kidnapping was becoming a major challenge said the state had put in place anti-kidnapping law to deal with kidnappers and perpetrators.
He said a lot of kidnappers had been arrested and they were been tried at the six special courts created by the State Chief Judge . 
On the issue of herdsmen menace, Governor Okowa observed that it was a national challenge that requires national solution, noting that the Police was doing a lot in combating criminalities in the state.
On the issue of the Ogbe-Ijaw and Aladja communal crisis that has lasted for years, Governor Okowa said his administration was on the verge to proffer lasting solution to the crisis.
The AIG Zone 5, Mr Adamu Abubakar  who was accompanied by top Police officers said he was on familiarization tour of  Delta State.
He appealed for structures to be erected for the Police at the Buffer Zone in the Aladja/Ogbe-Ijaw communities to ensure that the area was secured.
