Two survive construction site trench collapse

(Rescue Care)
Durban – Two people were injured after a trench at a construction site they were working on collapsed on North Coast Road in Durban on Wednesday evening.

Rescue Care’s Ceron Lennox said the men, aged 42 and 22, were lucky to have only sustained moderate injuries.

Lennox said by the time paramedics arrived at the scene, the 22-year-old had been freed.
The older man was pinned down by a large concrete pillar and mud for approximately two and a half hours before being freed, Lennox said.
