About eight alleged cultists have been arrested in Ogbaru Local
Government Area of Anambra State during a joint operation between Police
officers from the Atani Police Division and vigilantes in the area.
The
eight suspects arrested were part of 30 masked cultists who have been
terrorizing residents of Obumseli, Nwuga, Ogbolu, Abagana and Ijeh
streets, located at the Niger Bridge Head approach.
Mr Ejike Onwa,
the head of vigilante in the community made this known during an
inauguration of the five communities’ vigilante outfits led by the
Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area, Mr Emmanuel Ogbuanya.
