A woman allegedly threw her newborn daughter out of a seven-storey window after hiding her pregnancy from her boyfriend.
The little girl is thought to have only taken a few breaths and still
had the umbilical cord attached when she was tossed out of the top
floor building.
An autopsy ruled she died of blunt force injuries and was alive when she plummeted from the window.
Her mother Jennifer Berry, 33, has been charged with second-degree murder.
Law enforcement sources say the child was found outside Berry's boyfriend's apartment building in the Bronx, New York.
The pair are said to have been dating for about a year but he thought she had an abortion.
He told police he was in another room when the child was born and was thrown from the window. He is not facing any charges.
