Soldiers Gun Down Boko Haram Commander

According to Col. Sani Usman, the acting director of the army public relations, the terror kingpin had been wreaking havoc in the area, Punch reports.

He explained that the kingpin was gunned down during a shootout with soldiers on Monday afternoon.Usman said four other suspected terrorists escaped with gunshot wounds during the encounter, adding that an AK 47 rifle was recovered from the killed Boko Haram commander.The Boko Haram kingpin whose name was given as Alhaji Tijjani Usman Damagum was said to have been tracked down and arrested at Damagum town.
