South African Actress Arrested, To Appear In Court Over Drug Charges

According to News24.com; Malatji was nabbed on Sunday, September 27 from an Abu Dhabi flight as she made to smuggle ephedrine into the country.

The substance weighing 15.4kg and valued at over R4 million was found in her luggage by officials during a routine check at the airport, several South Africa news platforms reported.
Malatji, 29, appeared at the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, September 29 but her hearing has been moved to October 7, News24 reported.
She will remain in custody of the authorities till the next hearing.
One of the luggage she carried showed ‘suspicious images’, South Africa Revenue Spokesperson Luther Lebelo said.
Further investigations and tests confirmed she was carrying the substance and she was immediately arrested, Lebelo said.
