Macaulay, founder of the only gay church in Nigeria, the House of
Rainbow, where gays and lesbians openly worshipped, has been a thorn in
the flesh of the Nigerian government since the passing of the Anti-Gay
Law in Nigeria, organising and leading protest marches to various
Nigerian high commissions and embassies abroad.
Rev. Jide Macaulay, almost caused a stir during President Muhammadu Buhari's visit to Britain when they staged a protest at the Nigerian House in London, demanding that the President repeal the anti-gay law that was signed by his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan, in 2014.
