Police have been accused of ignoring a children’s care home appeal for assistance after a man was allegedly discovered hiding under a 17-year-old girl's bed.

Managers at the residential home claim its teen residents have been targeted by predators and accuse police of failing to tackle child sexual exploitation.
Police have been called out 96 times since January to the property in Solihull, Birmingham, which provides accommodation to older teens preparing to leave the care system.
West Midlands Police has now made a complaint to the council about the high level of call-outs.
But an investigation by the Birmingham Mail revealed that more than 80 of the calls have come from care home staff requesting assistance.
Around half of the calls involving child sexual exploitation and safeguarding fears.
One care worker said they called police on the 101 number at around 1.35am on August 29 after discovering an older man hiding under the teenager’s bed.
A 15-year-old boy, who was not from the home, was also in the room.
It took police until 2.25am to return the call, when an ‘area inspector’ said they would not be sending an officer.
