A toddler has been killed after a car rolled onto him outside his home.
The three-year-old was rushed to hospital after the car rolled off the driveway at the family home, but he died in hospital this morning.
The boy's family are being comforted by specially trained officers as police start an investigation into the cause of the tragedy.
Emergency services rushed to the house in Bury Road, Poole, Dorset, just after 3.30pm on Thursday to find the boy had been knocked unconscious.
An air ambulance was scrambled as a precaution but the youngster was taken by road to hospital, where he later died.
Inspector Matt Butler of the Dorset Police Traffic Unit said, "It is with great sadness that I inform you that a three-year-old boy was killed in a collision involving a vehicle at a private address in Poole yesterday afternoon.
"Police collision investigators and crime scene investigators attended the scene and an investigation has been started to identify exactly what happened."
