Devastated family of murdered teenager calls for tougher sentences for knife crime

 

Azeem Akhtar, 18, is now serving a 16-year sentence for the murder.
Akhtar admitted murdering Azim following a dispute on the same bus months earlier.

Witnesses described how Akhtar, from Glen Rise in Kings Heath, fatally stabbed Azim as he stepped off the bus in Wake Green Road.Azim initially ran but the wound had penetrated his heart and he quickly slumped to the ground.
Fiasal has replayed the whole murder over and over again in his own mind after it was captured on the bus CCTV system, harrowing footage he has since watched.
