Prison And Inmates Pardon

The Chief judge of Rivers State, Justice Iyayi Laminkara, has discharged fifty four inmates of the maximum security Prison in Port Harcourt during a jail delivery exercise.

Inmates granted bail during the exercise by the chief judge were those awaiting trial and have stayed for over three years  as well as those with medical challenges.
Speaking after granting pardon to the inmates,  Justice Iyayi Laminkara advised them to shun crime.
The deputy Controller of the Port Harcourt prisons, Mr. Ndupu Azuka lamented the huge number of inmates at the prison.
