The Appeal Court in Port Harcourt
has granted the appeal by the removed twenty three Local Government
Chairmen to be joined as interested parties in the suit against the ruling by a
Federal high court in Port Harcourt.
The ruling grants them the approval to appeal against the judgment of
the lower court which nullified the election that brought them to office.
In her ruling, Justice Theresa Orji-Adadua also gave the appellants seven days to file their notice of appeal from a lower court and transmit the record to the Appeal court.

Speaking to journalists, lead counsel to the appellants, Mr. Emenike Ebete noted that with the ruling, his
clients can now proceed to file an appeal against the earlier judgment of the lower court.
A Federal high court, presided by the now retired Justice Lambo
Akanbi had on the 9th of July set aside the election of the twenty three
Council chairmen and their councilors.
