Ogoni
politicians have been charged to sink their differences and work together as a
united front to ensure the successful implement of the UNEP Report and the
completion of the dualisation of the Saakpenwa, Bori, Kono road.
A Public
Relations practitioner, Chief Casca Ogosu who gave the charge in an interview
with our correspondent in Port Harcourt, expressed displeasure over bickering
and acrimony among politicians and warned that such attitude may hamper the
effective execution of projects in the area.
Chief Ogosu who
described the UNEP clean-up of oil impacted site and the dualisation of the
SaakpenwaKono road, as lofty projects, tasked the Ogonis to embrace them.
He condemned the
erection of illegal structures by the people on the road and advised against
any act that may hinder the timely execution of the road project.
On insinuations
that the conversion of the College of Arts and Science to Port Harcourt Polytechnic
may affect the business fortunes of Bori, where the Ken Saro Wiwa Polytechnic
is sited, Chief Ogosu emphasised that there was need to establish more
institutions to absorb the teeming population of candidates seeking admission
into higher institutions.
