RIVERS STATE COLLEGE OF ART AND SCIENCE CONVERSION


The proposed conversion of the College of Arts and Science, Rumuola to a full-fledged Polytechnic by the State government has been described as a fulfillment of the desires of the Students.

President of the Students Union of the college, Mr. Daniel Ichendu who stated this in an interview and said the proposal was long overdue.
Mr. Ichendu said the institution with  a population of over four thousand students, has what it takes to function as a polytechnic and noted that  dissenting voices on the proposed conversion, do not mean well for education in the state.
On the effect of the proposed conversion on the Ken-Saro Wiwa Polytechnic Bori, President of Law Students Association of the college, Mr. Nnoka Elechi said it would give more youths the opportunity to acquire tertiary education.

While expressing their willingness to cooperate with state government on the process of renaming the school, the students described the proposal as a good initiation.
