Illegal Structures And Night Clubs To Be Shut Down In Rivers State

Rivers State Commissioner for Urban Development and Physical Planning, Mr. Chinyere Igwe says, the operations of all illegal night clubs  would be shut down.

Mr. Igwe who made this known on a radio programme in Port Harcourt decried the conversion of virtually every major road junction in Port Harcourt to illegal markets and the springing up of unauthorized motor parks.
The Commissioner frowned at the establishment of night clubs in the Government Reserved Areas of the city.
Mr. Igwe also said it was illegal for anyone to convert a residential building into a store without seeking the necessary approval from the Ministry.

Mr. Igwe said effort is on by the current administration in the state to restore Port Harcourt to its original Garden city status.
