Hoteliers in Port Harcourt Laments Over Estimated Bills

Following the demand by Hoteliers in Port Harcourt to be disconnected from the service of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHED, over what they described as over estimated billing, PHED says it does not disconnect customers' based on request.

The Corporate Communications Manager of PHED, Mr. Jonah Ibomah who made this known in an interview  said what they could do was to help hotels manage their energy consumption which PHED had communicated to them in writing.
On the issue of power outage in most parts of the State, Mr. Ibomah said presently, the amount of power allocated to PHED from the national grid has dropped to zero from the 30megawatts it was on Saturday.
He said it was a national issue and that only areas powered by gas turbine would have electricity supply.
The PHED Corporate Communications Manager said the situation will change as soon as the national grid improves.
