IMPOSTORS ARRESTED

Naval Ship, Pathfinder Rumuolumeni in Port Harcourt has handed over Eleven civilians who impersonated Naval personnel to the Police for further investigation and prosecution.

Handing over the impersonators to the Police Criminal Investigation Department on behalf of the Commander of the Navy Ship Pathfinder, Commodore Sanusi Kasim-Ibrahim in Port Harcourt, the Base Regulating Officer of the Nigerian Navy ship Pathfinder, Lieutenant Commander Ayi Archibong, said the suspects were arrested at Rukpokwu in Port Harcourt by men of 97 Special Operation group of the Nigerian Airforce.
Lieutenant Commander Archibong emphasized that there was no law backing the organization which the suspects claimed to belong to.
Lieutenant Commander Archibong who noted that activities of such impostors were tarnishing the image of the Nigerian Navy, advised members of the public to be mindful of any organization claiming to recruit personnel on behalf of the armed forces.
Lieutenant Commander Archibong said efforts were being made to track down leaders of the self-claimed Nigerian Merchant Navy.
