Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike who gave the assurance during the flag off ceremony at Nembe Waterside said the reconstruction of the Jetty will provide safety and security for sea travelers and boost commercial activities along the waterfront.
Governor Wike also urged the contractor handling the project to execute quality job as well as provide employment for youths of the area.
Also speaking, Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Akie Fubara said the jetty when completed will be equipped with modern facilities.
Mr. Fubara added that there will be a dockyard and security post to ensure safety of lives and property.
