Teachers Welfare to Be Considered

Government at all levels have been urged to work towards improving the welfare and capacity of teachers in the country.

President, National Association of Female Teachers, Dr. Chikanele Asuru who stated this.
she also lamented a situation where government set up facilities in schools without adequate provision for teachers to understudy application of the facilities.

Dr Asuru however called on teachers to strive towards developing their personal capacity as improving their status will start from them.

A teacher who was interviewed from Okrika, Mr. Ama Pakabo lamented lack of promotion and non payment of his seven-month salary while other callers advocated proper legislation that will give priority to the teaching profession.

The callers said government should reward teachers here on earth and not wait till they get to heaven.
