Rivers
State House of Assembly has approved the request of Governor Nyesom Wike to
access ten billion naira from the Federal Governments Bail Out funds.
Speaker
of the House, Mr Adams Dabotorudima who read the request of the Governor said
the bailout is to enable the governor pay salaries and pensions due to the
dwindling federal allocation to the state.
Some
of the lawmakers who spoke during the plenary supported the moves by Governor
Wike to access the bail out funds after several months of setting up the scheme
by the Federal Government.
In
the meantime Rivers State House of Assembly has elected two principal officers
of the House.
They
include the leader of the House, Mr Martins Ameahule and the Deputy Whip
of the House , Major Jack.
Speaker
of the House Dabotorudima Adams charged them to use their wealth of experience
to move the Assembly forward.
