The authority of the
University of Port Harcourt has denied media report in some media houses
alleging the Vice- Chancellor of the University, Professor Ndowa Lale was
suspended on recommendation of the
investigation panel set up by the governing council on the student's
crises.
A statement signed by
the Registrar of the institution, Mrs. Dorcas Otto, stated that the panel
headed by a member of the council, Mr. Okechukwu Ajunwa, has not submitted its
report and that such an imaginary report could not, therefore have formed the
basis for the suspension of the Vice- Chancellor as was alleged in the media
report.
The Registrar advised
the general public to discountenance the story which was not based on facts.
