WIKE TO GRANT AMNESTY TO CULTISTS

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike says the state government will grant amnesty to cultists who laid down their arms and embrace peace.

Governor Wike stated this in Government House when members of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers paid him a visit in Port Harcourt.
Governor Wike maintained that the State Government was working with security agencies to ensure the state was safe for investment.
The Governor also advised Labour unions to look for other means of stating their grievances rather than strike as it affects the economy.
He promised to assist NUPENG in the construction of a tanker village in Eleme to address parking of trucks along the road.
Earlier, the President of NUPENG, Mr. Igwe Achese appealed to the Governor to facilitate the release of Certificate of Occupancy for the project.

Mr. Achese commended the State Government for its intervention during the crisis between the union and some oil companies in the state.
