The Rivers State Police Command has
smashed the gang of kidnappers responsible for the abduction of fourteen Oil
Workers on the second of September 2016.
According to a
release signed by the Police Public Relations
Officer, Mr. Omoni Nnamdi, the
Oil Workers were rescued unhurt yesterday by the Command’s Tactical Unit after
a gun duel with the hoodlums for over an hour.
The statement said
the hoodlums took to flight abandoning their hostages and that efforts were on
to arrest and bring them to justice.
The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State
Mr. Francis Odesanya reassured members of the public of his pledge to fight all
manner of crimes in the state.
