Street Traders Dislodged in Port Harcourt

Street traders have been dislodged from Rumuokwuta and their shops demolished, by Urban Guards from the Rivers State Ministry of Urban Development.

The traders who operate makeshift shops at checking point junction at Rumuokwuta were reportedly taken away by the Urban Guards while some had their goods confiscated.

A youth leader from Rumuokwuta Community Mr. Darlington Anakaraku expressed concern about the timing of the raid which he said was carried out at about five o’clock in the evening, as official government work ends at four o’clock in the evening.
